It’s sad news to hear of Christopher Tolkien’s death. He kept the flame of his father’s legacy alive and was in his own right a mapmaker, scholar, and writer.

The map! The map! The wonderful map! How often i would turn to it as i was reading the books. Truly interwoven with the tales. Made it all feel real somewhere.

Yes, I love books with maps and constantly flip back and forth between reading prose and figuring out where I am geographically–that’s why ebooks are not so satisfactory!
